These snacks are easy, simple, refreshing, and flexible because even though I mention specific fruits, you can change them to add your favorites. Here are 7 refreshing homemade snack with fruits to make your toasty Summer days a little more sweet.
1. Acai bowl
Ingredients:
*Optional
Acai pack
Frozen fruit of choice (berries, mango, pineapple)
Fresh strawberries, kiwis, bananas, and blueberries (or fruit of choice)
Granola / sliced almonds
Nutella*
Peanut butter*
Shredded coconut*
Coconut oil*
Shredded coconut*
Chia Seeds*
Mix the frozen berries and the acai pack in a blender and put it on the freezer for a few minutes to make it more frozen. Drizzle Nutella or a much healthier option, peanut butter, and/or coconut oil on top. Add fresh fruits of your choice and top it off with granola, sliced almonds, and any other toppings you’d like to add.
2. Strawberry and banana sorbet
Ingredients
Frozen strawberries
Frozen bananas
Honey
Lemon juice
Fresh fruits
Mix the frozen bananas, strawberries, and a small amount of honey and lemon juice in a blender. Put it in the freezer for a few minutes. Scoop yourself some delicious sorbet and add toppings of your choosing. They can be more fruit, almonds, healthy whip cream, you name it.
3. Peach & yogurt frozen bites
Ingredients
Yogurt (I used vanilla)
Water
Bite size peaches
Mix yogurt of preference on bowl, could be flavored or plain, with a very small amount of water to make it slightly more liquid. Put one or two bite sized peaches into a silicone baking tray and then pour the yogurt mix. Put it in the freezer until frozen and sturdy and enjoy your refreshing frozen snack bites.
4. Tropical fruit salad / Yogurt Parfait
Ingredients
Pineapple
Apple
Grapes
Kiwi
Banana
Yogurt (optional)
Almonds
Granola
Simply grab a bowl and add all the fruits you love. There’s a few suggestions in the ingredients section above. You can leave it like that for a refreshing fruit salad or add yogurt, almonds, and granola to make it into a yogurt parfait.
5. Infused Water Popsicles
Ingredients:
Water
Fruits of choice (lemon, oranges, pineapples, strawberries)
Squeeze and mix your fruits of choice with water into a bottle, cup or a large jar for more than one serving. Let it set for a few hours until the water acquires that fruity taste. Remove the fruit and pour the mix into a popsicle mold. Add fresh fruits of choice into the mold and then put it in the freezer until it becomes frozen. It will taste icy, but it's refreshing regardless. Just a slightly different approach to drinking water.
However, instead of water, you can do this with any other liquid such as juice, smoothie, and even yogurt.
6. Chocolate and peanut butter banana bites
Ingredients
Fresh banana
Peanut butter
Melted or hardening chocolate
Cut the banana in slices and pair them up. Add peanut butter between each pair. As for the chocolate, you can either spread it between the banana slices, just like the peanut butter, or cover the banana sandwich with the chocolate. Put them in the fridge until the chocolate gets sturdy and the peanut butter as well and then, enjoy!
7. Mango smoothie
Ingredients
Frozen mangos
Frozen bananas
Milk
Blend the milk with frozen mangos and bananas. That’s it. Easy. You can add fresh or even frozen mangos on top to make it a little extra special.
